December 16, 2010 <br />Page 2 <br />Stanton for the generous donation. <br />EMPLOYEE SERVICE AWARDS <br />Parks & Planning <br />Gary Brown 10 years <br />Rubin Rojo 30 years <br />Recreation <br />Scott Engel 25 years <br />Kurt Gunning 5 years <br />Senior staff and members of the Board thanked and commended the honorees. Lindsey and <br />Kouba provided an overview of each employee's professional and academic achievements. On <br />behalf of the Board and staff, Friedl presented awards to the honorees. <br />Honorees thanked co-workers, senior staff and the Board of Directors for their support, and <br />spoke of their pride and satisfaction in being part of Conejo Recreation and Park District. <br />Gibson recessed the meeting at 8:35 PM and reconvened the meeting at 8:45 PM. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Gina Smurthwaite, referenced a letter she wrote to the City of Thousand vaKs Council <br />members citing safety concerns about portions of the bicycle path and equestrian trail under <br />construction at Conejo Creek. She said that textured surface is needed on portions of the path. <br />Barbara Kloster stated her support for the issues identified by Smurthwaite. She requested a <br />meeting with District and City staff to discuss concerns. <br />Kloster introduced the ETI, Corral 37 board: Jill Stultz, president; Ken Young, vice president; <br />Luann Jones, treasurer; James Stultz, arena maintenance. <br />Jacobsen expressed support for safety and esthetic issues on the bicycle path and equestrian <br />trail. <br />Concluding, Kloster spoke in support of raising the reimbursement limit for those injured in a <br />metrolink accident in Simi Valley. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0, to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br />
