Preparation
The scope of work as outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP) is quite
complete in the description of the work to be accomplished. The division
of the scope into the three (3) phases is typical for projects within the.
Sports Field Design realm. The consultant team will immediately begin
the program verification process for the athletic fields. Having provided
these services for other governmental agencies, we have vast experience
in the design of athletic fields and facilities and bring our experience
and checklists when completing this task. We will prepare agendas of
components and programs that will need to be discussed during meetings
with District staff. We excel at preparing colorful and descriptive exhibits
for use in alternatives for the renovations to the field as well as generating
discussion among the participants as to their needs, programming and
futwre desires for the new facilities.
Once any requested or required public outreach -with the community and
all stakeholders are complete, the design team will complete the Master
Site Plan. We rely on. extensive lists of design elements normally required
for the complete range of athletic facilities and venues. By working our
way through these lists with the designated end users, always filtered by
management and staff, we will be able to refine the program for the new
facility. In addition to working on the program requirements with the
ertd users, our staff will be identifying, locating and reviewing all of the
background materials needed to competently create'a world-class facility.
The design team will bring CMX's current cost database to bear in the
preparation/review of the Engineers Estimate of Probable Costs, which
will be generated based on the approved Master Site Plan. We establish
a complete line item and unit price estimate from the beginning and
do not rely on large scale, "rule of thumb", budgets. We have found
that the sooner you begin developing unit quantities and prices, the
easier it is to present the components of a project and eliminate any
erroneous expectations later in the process.
