relations skills and makes personal contact with field directors to explain the <br />process and approval/denial of requests when necessary. In addition, she takes <br />over the reservation's office in the absence of the Reservations Coordinator. <br />She is extremely dependable and has an outstanding attitude. She is willing to <br />assist whenever necessary and has outstanding relationships with co-workers, <br />supervisors, and customers. <br />Deirdre Pearson, Aquatics Specialist in the Sports/Aquatics Section. Dee has <br />worked in the Sports/Aquatics Section since 1991 and in the day camps before <br />that time. She has been an integral part of the CLU Community Pool research, <br />planning and purchasing. Dee is a hard working, persistent and takes great pride <br />in representing the District. She is a certified Aquatic Facility Operator through <br />the National Recreation and Park Association. She has developed fine <br />relationships with the school district, community groups and patrons. Her <br />community involvement includes the Conejo Valley Unified School District <br />Advisory Council, PISA, School. Site Council, and Conejo Youth Basketball <br />Association. She is a Red Cross instructor trainer for water safety instruction, <br />and Lifeguarding. Dee is a leader in the Aquatics community both in the Conejo <br />Valley with CRPD and Ventura County with the American Red Cross. <br />Gina Ausen, Recreation Leader at Thousand Oaks Community Center. Gina <br />worked as a camp counselor for Little Folks Summer Day Camp in 2006 and <br />2007 as well as working as afterschool tutor at Conejo Elementary School. She <br />was then transitioned to a Recreation Leader at the Thousand Oaks Community <br />Center where she has been working ever since. She coordinates the birthday <br />party program and to date, she has personally conducted over 75 parties this <br />year. She has been the creative force behind the Thousand Oaks Center <br />Transformers section at the Haunted Trail as well as crafts for Touch -A -Truck <br />and Fishing Frenzy this past year. Parents enjoy Miss Gina's classes and are <br />constantly telling her supervisor that their child will miss their "play dates" with <br />her when the session ends. Gina has worked with the school district in the <br />Homework Helpers program and has organized Family Fun Nights as well as <br />Family Fit Club activities. She always goes above and beyond to make the <br />community a better place. <br />Mary Jo Diefentlhaler, Administrative Clerk, Thousand Oaks Teen Center. <br />Mary Jo has worked at the Teen Center since it opening 19 years ago. Prior to <br />that, she worked in the Sports Unit for two years. She prepares the quarterly <br />Teen Center status reports for the Board and city council and oversees building <br />permits and the weekly building schedule. She is also responsible for all Teen <br />Unit hourly contracts. Outside correspondence is prepared by Mary Jo which is <br />done in an effective and professional manner. Mary Jo works extremely well with <br />part-time personnel, teen patrons, and the adults that seek her out for building <br />usage.
