Section 70078 of the Water Code is amended to <br />4 read: <br />5 70078. Each member of the board shall receive compensation <br />6 for services actually and necessarily performed, as the board <br />7 determines to be just and reasonable, and shall be reimbursed for <br />8 expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of his or her <br />9 duties as director. The salaries of all officers and employees of <br />10 the district shall be fixed and determined by the directors. The <br />11 board of directors shall fix the compensation that the election <br />12 officers shall receive for district elections. For purposes of this <br />13 section, the determination of whether a director's activities on <br />14 any specific day are compensable shall be made pursuant to <br />15 Article 2.3 (commencing with Section 53232) of Chapter 2 of <br />16 Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the Government Code. <br />17 Reimbursement for these expenses is subject to Sections 53232.2 <br />18 and 53232.3 of the Government Code. <br />19 SEC. 39. Section 71255 of the Water Code is amended to <br />20 read: <br />21 71255. Each director shall receive compensation in an <br />22 amount not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) per day for <br />23 each day's attendance at meetings of the board or for each day's <br />24 service rendered as a director by request of the board, not <br />25 exceeding a total of six days in any calendar month, together <br />26 with any expenses incurred in the performance of his or her <br />27 duties required or authorized by the board.
