AB 1234 <br />—22- <br />1 (b) For purposes of this section, the determination of whether <br />2 a director's activities on any specific day are compensable shall <br />3 be made pursuant to Article 2.3 (commencing with Section <br />4 53232) of Chapter 2 of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the <br />5 Government Code. Reimbursement for these expenses is subject <br />6 to Sections 53232.2 and 53232.3 of the Government Code. <br />7 SEC. 36. Section 56031 of the Water Code is amended to <br />S read: <br />9 56031. The district board shall have power to fix the amount <br />10 of compensation per meeting to be paid each member of the <br />11 board for his or her services for each meeting attended by him or <br />12 her; provided, that the compensation shall not exceed ten dollars <br />13 ($10) for each meeting of the district board attended by him or <br />14 her, together with expenses necessarily incurred by him or her in <br />15 traveling between his or her place of residence and the place of <br />16 meeting. However, no member shall receive compensation for <br />17 attending more than three meetings of the board during any <br />1$ calendar month. This compensation shall be in addition to any <br />19 other fees or compensation allowed by law for the other official <br />20 positions specified in Section 56030 that are occupied by <br />21 members of the district board. For purposes of this section, the <br />22 determination of whether a director's activities on any specific <br />23 day are compensable shall be made pursuant to Article 2.3 <br />24 (commencing with Section 53232) of Chapter 2 of Part 1 of <br />25 Division 2 of Title 5 of the Government Code. Reimbursement <br />26 for these expenses is subject to Sections 53232.2 and 53232.3 of <br />27 the Government Code. <br />28 SEC. 37. Section 60143 of the Water Code is amended to <br />29 read: <br />30 60143. Each director shall receive compensation in an <br />31 amount not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100) for each day's <br />32 attendance at meetings of the board or for each day's service <br />33 rendered as a director by request of the board, not exceeding a <br />34 total of six days in any calendar month, together with any <br />35 expenses incurred in the performance of his or her duties <br />36 required or authorized by the board. For purposes of this section, <br />37 the determination of whether a director's activities on any <br />38 specific day are compensable shall be made pursuant to Article <br />39 2.3 (commencing with Section 53232) of Chapter 2 of Part 1 of <br />40 Division 2 of Title 5 of the Government Code.
