Minutes 9-28-16
Page 3
C. Main Hall Projector and Screen -Approval
Hamm referenced the documentation and explained $23,000 was approved
in the 2016/2017 Commission budget for a new main hall projector and
screen. She noted that Wilshire Media Systems, the company that
previously installed the state-of-the-art main hall sound system in 2015
submitted a bid of $22,917. She added that Wilshire Media Systems was not
asked to include a new projection screen in its bid, as it was thought the
existing 25 -year old screen would suffice. She reported that it was
discovered the existing screen could not work properly due to the positioning
of newly -installed main hall stair rails. She said Wilshire Media Systems was
contacted and asked to recalculate the quote to include a projector screen
which added $9,016 to the quote for a total of $31,933. She also noted that
Wilshire Media Systems would integrate the new projector into the main hall
sound system.
It was moved by Martinich, seconded by Fineroff, and passed
unanimously, to authorize an additional $9,000 to the budgeted $23,000,
for a total not to exceed $32,000 for a projector and screen for the main
hall and to award the contract to Wilshire Media Systems.
6. Officer and Committee Reports and Recommendations
A. President
Smith noted that committee members, who cannot attend their scheduled
committee meetings, perhaps withdraw from that particular committee in
favor of a committee whose meetings are compatible with their schedule.
B. Vice President
No report.
C. Secretary
No report.
D. Treasurer
1. General Report: Basilio referenced and reviewed the Treasurer's
Current Asset Report and reported $334,102.57 in current assets in
certificate of deposits and money market accounts as well as
