Renaming Lang Ranch Community Park <br />Friedl presented the item and reviewed the process the Park Naming Committee <br />(Huffer and Jones) used to arrive at the current recommendation. The suggested <br />name has historical relevance and honors the first people known to inhabit the <br />Conejo Valley. Huffer stated it is important to select a unique name that is <br />descriptive of the park itself and can lead to educational opportunities. Jones <br />concurs and is wholeheartedly in favor of this name. Holt would like to see a sign <br />or plaque at the park explaining the origin of the name; a cultural landmark would <br />be very appropriate. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Huffer, and carried 5-0 to accept Sapwi <br />Trails Community Park as the new name of Lang Ranch Community Park. <br />D. May Board Meeting Date Change <br />Friedl reported the May 15th Board meeting date conflicts with the CARPD Annual <br />Conference, which is being attended by a majority of Board members. <br />It was moved by Jones, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to reschedule the <br />Thursday, May 15th Board meeting to Thursday, May 22"d <br />10.
