July 21, 2016 <br />Page 3 <br />Friedl reported this item is related to Item 9C; assistance is needed to accomplish turf <br />conversions in a timely manner. On July 2"d, the Board authorized awarding of <br />contracts to Senel Construction and FS Contractors in an amount not to exceed <br />$200,000 annually. With the recently awarded grant funds, help is needed to get the <br />jobs done in next eight months. This amendment will increase the contracts from <br />$200K to $600K, allowing the District to move forward on the applicable turf conversion <br />projects. All other terms and conditions of the contracts apply. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt and carried 4-0 to: <br />1. Authorize General Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with <br />Senel Construction and Engineering, increasing the not -to -exceed amount <br />from $200,000 to $600,000 for the first year for potential turf conversion <br />services at parks throughout the District; and <br />2. Authorize General Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with FS <br />Contractors, Inc., increasing the not -to -exceed amount from $200,000 to <br />$600,000 for the first year for potential turn conversion services at parks <br />throughout the District. <br />D. Amendment #1 to Contract for Architectural Services at Old Meadows Center <br />with Greg Korn Architect, PC in the amount of $36,390 for a new Contract <br />Amount of $43,890 <br />Friedl reported this is an amendment to an existing contract; staff is pleased with the <br />work of Greg Korn; he has provided a schematic architectural design for Old Meadows <br />Center. Parks & Planning staff has met several times with Therapeutic Recreation <br />Staff and Korn to discern which improvements would be most useful for the Center. <br />Friedl highlighted a list of recommendations, including additional interior storage space, <br />a redo of ceilings, additional fans for circulation, elimination of the pass thru window to <br />open up the kitchen, and adding a washer and dryer. Interior updates such as these will <br />make the center more useful for Therapeutic programs and more attractive to potential <br />renters. <br />It was moved by Jones, seconded by Holt and carried 4-0 to authorize General <br />Manager to execute Amendment #1 to contract with Greg Korn Architect, PC, in <br />the amount of $36,390 for a new contract amount of $43,890. <br />E. Review and Discuss Proposed Updates to Conejo Recreation and Park District's <br />Strategic Plan <br />Friedl presented the latest version of the Strategic Plan, formulated after taking into <br />consideration suggestions made by Board members at the July 7t' Board meeting. <br />Said changes have been made and incorporated into the current document. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Jones and carried 4-0 to approve the Final <br />
