July 21, 2016
Page 2
Friedl reported, in Hare's absence, this purchase satisfies the District's current vehicle
needs. He made special note of the 15 -passenger van, which will replace the District's
19 -passenger van. The larger van requires additional license certification for its
operators, which has resulted in occasional scheduling limitations. The 15 -passenger
van will be the second of its kind in the CRPD fleet. Funds for these purchases are
available in equipment reserve fund.
It was moved by Jones, seconded by Holt and carried 4-0 to award purchase in the
total amount of $180,079.50 to Fairview Ford as follows:
➢ (3) 2017 314 -Ton Regular Cab 4x2 Trucks in the amount of $89,991.00
($29,997 each)
➢ (1) 2017 314 —Ton Extended Cab 4x4 Truck in the amount of $29,298.00
(1) 2017 314 —Ton Extended Cab 4x4 Utility Bed Truck in the amount of
$34,297.00
➢ (1) 2017 15Passenger Van in the amount of $38,994.00
➢ Plus tire fees ($56.00) and sales tax ($14,443.50)
B. Landscape Mulch Material Supply Purchase at Bulk Rates of $18.28 per cubic
yard from Foothill Soils, Inc. and $18.00 per cubic yard from Agromin
Friedl reported due to recent funds made available by the grant awarded CRPD from
the Metropolitan Water District, turf conversion projects may now commence. Time is
of the essence, as the grant stipulates all the work must be completed within eight
months. This work will require a large amount of mulch. Staff recommends buying
from two sources; two bids were received and samples were provided. Buying in bulk
will save the District approximately 28% from recent mulch purchases.
It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange and carried 4-0 to:
1. Award Landscape Mulch Material purchase contract in the unit price of
$18.28 per cubic yard to Foothill Soils, Inc., minimum 6,000 cubic yards;
and
2. Award Landscape Mulch Material purchase contract in the unit price
of $18.00 per cubic yard to Agromin, minimum 6,000 cubic yards
C. Amendment #1 to Contract for Turf Conversion Services at Various Park
Facilities with Senel Construction and Engineering and with FS Contractors Inc.
not to exceed $600,000 each.
