Authorization To Offer For Sale And The Quitclaim Of The Tennyson
Street -Lynn Road Access Strip To The Immediately Adjacent Property
Owners
Gilmore invited questions, and noted the presence of Michelle Johnson, one
of two property owners, whose property is adjacent to the access strip. He
said that staff recommendation is to sell the property.
In response to Board questions, Gilmore explained that only two property
owners are involved, both have expressed an interest in purchasing the
property, the property has no practical use, its intended use will probably
never be realized, and based on County assessment figures, staff suggests a
purchase price of $435 for each property owner. He identified and
discussed the "Cross Town Trail", surrounding areas, and the organizations
and individuals impacted. He reviewed the relevant background,
development issues, and financial considerations that have prevented the
completion of the trail.
Jacobsen identified and discussed the problems associated with achieving
the original objective of the "Cross Town Trail". He said that he agreed with
staff recommendation.
It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-0 to
authorize the General Manager to pursue the offer for sale and the
quitclaim of the Tennyson Street -Lynn Road access strip to the
immediately adjacent property owners. Further, that the staff be
directed to prepare the appropriate quitclaim deeds, agreements, and
approval of Ventura County Flood Control District for the transfer of
their easement, all for further Board consideration and action.
9.
