Warrants, Exhibits A-E, Total $350,563.27 <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0, to approve the <br />Consent Calendar as presented. <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />A. Authorization to Purchase Additional Liability Insurance for Portable <br />Skateboard Facility <br />Jorgensen referenced the documentation and noted Board approval of <br />the concept of a portable skateboard and in-line skating facility and the <br />request for additional insurance information. He discussed coverage for <br />a supervised facility, which staff recommends, and said that the amount <br />of insurance available is $1,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate, with <br />a $10,000 deductible, and a first-year cost of approximately $11,500. <br />Discussion followed regarding product insurance liability; self-insurance; <br />numbers of anticipated participants and program charges and the <br />significance of the insurance issues; blanket or specialized insurance; <br />registration fees, waivers, card identification; pilot program 1 -year trial <br />run, with additional insurance; and park usage. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to authorize <br />staff to purchase additional liability insurance for the portable skateboard <br />facility, as identified in the memo. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to direct staff to prepare a report <br />covering finances, a mechanism for control, and cost recovery. <br />B. Consideration of a Request by the City of Thousand Oaks and the Conejo <br />Valley Unified School District for District Participation in Discussions <br />Regarding Waverly Adult School Access Issues. <br />Jacobsen noted the information in the packet and referenced the letter <br />to the Board from Mayor Lazar and Mildred Lynch. Ward said the <br />request is for two Board members to participate in discussions with the <br />School and the City, and referred to the aerial map of the area. <br />
