CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT
BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 4, 1997
7:30 P.M.
GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER
MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE
Chair Jacobsen called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m., and led the flag
salute.
2. ROLL CALL
Directors Present: Jacobsen, Lange, Gillette, Holt, Berger
Directors Absent: None
Staff Present: General Manager Ward; Administrators, Washington, Sorensen,
Jorgensen; and Administrative Secretary Tobin
3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS
None
4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC
Nick Quidwai, Newbury Park, had concerns with the donations to the City from
developers. Gillette responded that the Board has worked to acquire and assist
in the acquisition of open space, such as Linfin, Broome Ranch, and McCrea.
Ward said that relative to the Woodridge project, the District has had a
longstanding policy that any area developed within the City limits of Thousand
Oaks should also be within the boundaries of the Park District, and the action
with respect to annexation was a contingency action having to do with the fact
that should the project be approved, the District would proceed with
annexation. In the event the development is approved, it would be within this
Agency's jurisdiction, specifically any conditions, and/or Quimby fees, would
accrue to this Agency, as opposed to the County
5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to approve the
agenda as presented.
