July 10, 1997 <br />Page 4 <br />Jacobsen emphasized the importance of the master planning process and <br />said that the involvement of concerned groups and individuals is desired, and <br />no decisions will be made prior to community inputs. <br />Jo Terrusa requested that staff investigate the concerns of the residents in <br />the area at the east end of Las Flores Road. <br />Gillette said that the District is cognizant of the historical significance of the <br />property and the issues involved, and he said that a park drive such as that <br />at Conejo Creek North would not serve high density traffic needs and would <br />not be a good use of park property. He said that it would be extremely <br />premature for the District to get involved in the proposed project at this time, <br />the park is a regional site, and thus community wide involvement would be <br />necessary before any decisions are made. <br />It was moved by Gillette and seconded by Lange to decline to take a <br />position on the feasibility of the road or participate in the construction <br />costs, until such time as more information is available. <br />Lange, Holt, and Jacobsen echoed Gillette's statements. Berger said that the <br />sale of the property is not a consideration. <br />The motion carried ". <br />Jacobsen thanked the participants for their presence and input. <br />The meeting was recessed at 9:07 p.m. and reconvened at 9:14 p.m. <br />B. Adoption Of Resolution Number 071097-A, A Resolution Adopting The <br />Memorandum Of Understanding That adjusts Employee Benefits And <br />Salaries <br />It was moved by Gillette, seconded by Holt, and carried 5-0 to approve <br />Resolution Number 071097-A, a resolution that adopts the <br />Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into by the District and <br />SEW and adjusts other employee benefits and salaries, as outlined in <br />the submitted memorandum, that it be read in title only and all other <br />readings be waived. <br />Gillette stated his appreciation to staff and the appropriate SEIU <br />representatives for the agreement. <br />
