March 20, 1997 <br />Page 2 <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried unanimously, 4-0, to <br />approve the agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Minutes of March 6, 1997 Meeting <br />B. Warrants, Exhibits A - H, Total $393,512.96 <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried unanimously, 3- <br />0, with Jacobsen abstaining, to approve the Consent Calendar as <br />presented. <br />7 DEFERRED MATTERS <br />None <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorization To Purchase Computer For Conejo Community Center <br />Washington said the request was consistent with the District's objective of <br />upgrading its computer operation in order to provide improved service to the <br />community. In response to Lange's inquiries, Washington said that initial <br />research indicates that the purchase is affordable, and technical, price, and <br />vendor considerations will be discussed with knowledgeable staff members. <br />Berger suggested consideration be given to purchasing a 17 inch monitor. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Jorgensen indicated that decisions <br />involving District software upgrades are made carefully, Word and Excel <br />software packages are currently being phased in, and decisions involving <br />desk top publishing software are left to the discretion of individual users. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried unanimously, <br />4-0, to authorize Conejo Community Center to purchase an IBM <br />compatible computer with a Hewlett Packard laser printer from vending <br />money account, not to exceed $4,000. <br />
