Minutes 10-17-96
Page 4
Gillette, noting that $2,000 of the proposed funding is
based on potential Grant Action funds, voiced his concern
and said that he could not support the recommendation
until there is certainty of full cost recovery. Ward
said that it was communicated to Joe Edmiston of MRCA
that the amount MRCA would contribute would be subject
to review and could be modified in the event costs exceed
projections, but, Ward noted, there could be an initial
period of incomplete cost recovery.
Holt noted that there are other advantages to be gained
beyond those identified, including consistent reception
desk coverage at Park Place. Lange said that, speaking
as a Board member, he would expect that MRCA would be
willing to retroactively cover any project costs beyond
the $11,000 estimate, if such costs are identified.
Noting the District's loss of 25 percent of its revenue
in recent years, Gillette restated his concern with under
funded projects.
It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 4-
1, with Gillette in opposition, to approve transferring
the MRCA payroll processing responsibility to the
District, effective January 1, 1997, and to appropriate
$13,000 for a 20 -hour per week receptionist position.
9• ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION
None
10.
