Minutes 9-19-96
Page 6
Holt said that she has received much relevant feedback,
Berger said he would like to see the ballot, and
Sorensen said that a great deal of inaccurate information
exists about the concept.
In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that
most bark parks have good parking facilities and
restrooms, and are located near an arterial line, to
facilitate their community -wide focus; community parks
have these amenities, and, consequently, they are part
of the contingency plans; and homeowners in the Triunfo
Park area have expressed concern about potential traffic
and parking problems.
Sorensen said that it has been communicated to all
interested people that only conceptual approval for the
Triunfo Park site has been given, and conceptual approval
is defined as "approved for further study".
Gillette expressed confidence in the area homeowners
associations.
B. Recreation Division Report
Washington summarized that the Oktoberfest at Conejo
Creek North was very successful in terms of attendance,
planning, and implementation; fall programs begin within
the next two weeks; and the Children's Festival of the
Arts on October 5 at Conejo Creek North will be a major
children's event.
Washington referenced a handout on summer camp attendance
for 1995 and 1996. He reviewed the statistics, discussed
strategies for handling camp requests, and noted that the
McCrea Ranch may ultimately be used as an additional camp
site.
Berger complimented staff for its efforts with the
Oktoberfest event.
C. Administration Division Report
Jorgensen reported that discussions are underway for the
District to assume responsibility for MRCA's payroll
processing. He said that the change would save MBCA
staff time.
