Minutes 9-19-96 <br />Page 7 <br />Concluding, he said that the Ventura County National Bank <br />was sold to City National Bank, and the District's <br />banking services will be rebid. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Jorgensen said that <br />October 1 is the goal for the start of the District's <br />internet presence, and no impact to the District is <br />expected as a result of the bank acquisition. <br />D. General Manager's Report <br />Ward summarized: there has been no executive action on <br />Assembly Bill 2797; the consultant's report on the Hill <br />Canyon Regional Recreation Area Golf Course has been <br />released in draft form; a secondary financial and <br />management report is expected shortly; two pow -wows are <br />scheduled for September 21 and 22; and, relative to the <br />MRCA payroll processing plan, the District will recover <br />all direct and indirect costs and MRCA will benefit from <br />the arrangement. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Ward said that, if <br />AB2797 is vetoed, the probable legislative response is <br />unclear, and the District and various professional <br />associations have corresponded with the governor and <br />appropriate legislators. <br />E. Directors' Reports <br />Lange said that he attended the recent AYSO (American <br />Youth Soccer Organization) inauguration of the new soccer <br />fields at Pepper Tree Playfield, and he praised the <br />fields and efforts of the staff. Additionally, he said <br />he attended the Botanic Gardens, and he noted the <br />improvements made in recent years. <br />Gillette noted a recent article in the Star on the <br />Stagecoach Inn. Additionally, he said he was pleased to <br />announce that the City Council voted unanimously to <br />uphold the property rights of La Reina High School and <br />California Lutheran University. <br />Jacobsen said he attended the recent RSVP luncheon, and <br />he praised the senior volunteers and the magnitude of <br />their contribution to the community. <br />
