Adoption Of Resolution Number 071196-B, A Resolution To <br />Adopt The Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) And Adjust <br />Employee Benefits And Salaries <br />Jorgensen stated that the proposed contract is within the <br />guidelines established by the Board, and it has been <br />ratified by the employees. He identified two additional <br />items included in the resolution: a position <br />reclassification from Accounting Clerk I to Accounting <br />Clerk II, and the adjustment of the executive <br />compensation percentage received by the Recreation <br />Services Managers from 2.5 percent to 5 percent. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Jorgensen said that the <br />reclassification of the clerk position and the adjustment <br />of the executive compensation percentage will cost the <br />District approximately $3,600 annually. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried <br />unanimously, 3-0, to adopt Resolution Number 071196-B, <br />a resolution that adopts the Memorandum of Understanding <br />(MOU) entered into by the District and SEIU and adjusts <br />other employee benefits and salaries as outlined in the <br />submitted memorandum; that it be read in title only and <br />all further readings be waived. <br />Board members stated their appreciation for the <br />cooperative bargaining process. <br />B. Adoption Of Resolution Number 071196-A, A Resolution To <br />Assure District Is Eligible To Purchase Surplus Federal <br />Property <br />Sorensen explained the purpose of the renewal process. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that the <br />District has not yet availed itself of the federal <br />surplus program, but has participated in the state <br />program. In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen <br />said that staff is made aware of tax liens against local <br />property, some purchases have been made, and staff will <br />investigate the process at the federal level. <br />
