Minutes 7-11-96
Page 3
Ray O'Grady, said tnat he preferred a more passive site
approach, he is concerned about the lack of parking and
the anticipated proliferation of ground squirrels, and
he is pleased with the redesign based on public input.
In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that there
is no parking on Michael Drive on the south side of the
park, and most neighborhood parks are walk -to sites.
Jeff Thomas said that he is concerned about the potential
danger of fire around the bar-be-que pits. Sorensen said
that in areas adjacent to the bar-be-que pits, mulch
could be placed to prevent plant growth. In response to
his desire to plant vines on wrought iron fencing to
facilitate privacy for adjoining homeowners, Sorensen
said that staff could investigate the possibility.
Ron Lombard identified petty vandalism affecting some
adjoining property owners. Jacobsen said that it is
hoped that site development will lessen the problem.
As there was no one else wishing to address the Board,
Jacobsen closed the public hearing.
it was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried
unanimously, 3-0, to approve the Master Plan for the
southeast corner of Michael Drive and Borchard Road.
In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen said that staff
will be present at the July 23 City Council meeting.
Jacobsen said that he is pleased to see the rapid
progress of the site's development and the City's
involvement and support. He thanked all for their
interest.
B. Public Hearing - Fiscal Year 1996-1997 Budget
Jacobsen declared the public hearing open and explained
that the public hearing will continue until August 8.
He referenced the submitted budget material.
As no one was in attendance who wished to address the
Board, the public hearing was continued to the next
meeting.
