Minutes 6-27-96
Page 6
8. NEW ITEMS
A. Conejo Valley Historical Society
1. Presentation Of Annual Report
2. Approval Of Annual Agreement
Ward referenced the documentation and noted staff
recommendation.
James T. Oblinger said that the Society was pleased with
District support, he noted the improved grounds, and he
commended Sandra Hildebrandt, museum director. He
referenced the submitted documentation, identified, and
summarized needed improvements.
Gillette requested that staff investigate possible safety
issues at the Ventu Park entrance. In response to Board
inquiries, Gilmore identified and discussed the status
of several projects at the museum, and Ward said that
many of the projects are part of the routine maintenance
of the site. Oblinger said that adequate parking space
is a problem.
In response to Gillette's inquiry, Ward said that staff
is investigating the possibility of an historical
designation for McCrea Ranch, which is a prerequisite for
possible grant funding.
Sandra Hildebrandt, Director of the Stagecoach Inn
Museum, thanked the District for its support, and said
any assistance with projects on the submitted task list
would be appreciated. She said that the volunteers work
hard on behalf of the museum, and funds are being sought
from the California Heritage Trust. She noted the
upcoming Triunfo Ball and urged all to attend.
Lange thanked Hildebrandt and her staff of volunteers for
their efforts.
It was moved by Jacobsen, seconded by Berger, and carried
unanimously, to authorize the General Manager to execute
the submitted one-year agreement with the Conejo Valley
Historical Society for the period July 1, 1996 through
June 30, 1997.
