Minutes 6-27-96
Page 7
B. Public Hearing - Fiscal Year 1996-1997 Budget
Gillette declared the public hearing open.
Ward explained that the public hearing will continue
until August 8. As no one was in attendance who wished
to address the Board, the public hearing was continued
to the next meeting.
C. Ratification Of Direct Purchase Of 15 -Passenger Van
Ward explained that this was a request to ratify the
direct purchase of the van, whose purchase was previously
approved in January. He said the price exceeded the
original authorization by approximately $1,400, but was
within budget. He summarized the events and rationale
that necessitated the request.
It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried
unanimously to ratify the direct purchase of a 15 -
passenger van from Bob Beaty Ford in the amount of
$22,733.41.
D. Authorization To Dispose Of Excess Computer Equipment
Jorgensen stated that the computer equipment was old and
obsolete but functional, and staff was requesting
authorization to establish an ongoing program for phased
out equipment.
Holt suggested that money spent on advertising be
limited, and if the equipment is not sold, a donation
should be considered. Jorgensen concurred.
It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried
unanimously to approve the disposition of District owned
surplus computer and typing equipment stored at Park
Place as outlined in submitted Attachment A; that a
letter be sent to all District employees, local non-
profit, and social service agencies advising them of the
disposition program to liquidate surplus PC's; and to
advertise the disposition program in the Thousand Oaks
Star.
