Minutes 2-1-96 <br />Page 4 <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Regarding the Michael Park design ana development, Sorensen said that <br />District and City staff are continuing discussions in view of the possible <br />joint effort to develop and maintain the park. A draft MOU will be <br />presented for the Board's consideration at a later meeting. <br />Sorensen also met with Shapell Industries representatives regarding of <br />Rancho Conejo Playfield, and discussed items which had been brought <br />to staff's attention by public comments in the Public Hearing; are <br />continuing to develop the design; and are awaiting the City's response <br />on their process for approval since the Specific Plan requires City <br />approval. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Washington said that the seniors' Valentine's Dance will be held Sunday <br />afternoon at the Center, and he invited the Board to attend RSVP's <br />Valentine Party on Wednesday from 12 - 2 p. The District's Annual Art - <br />walk, on the Exxon property, will be held Saturday and Sunday 1st and <br />2nd of June. He expressed appreciation to CLU who offered their facility <br />should the Exxon property be sold. The Spring brochure is being <br />finalized and registrations will be taking place in a month. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />Jorgensen and Washington attended a demonstration of the voice <br />activated software purchased for a District employee to comply with <br />A.D.A. accommodation requirements, and invited the Board to view the <br />software. Responding to Lange's question concerning the software, <br />Jorgensen said that the only one they saw advertised was an IBM; they <br />were given a government discount, and were impressed with the quality. <br />Jorgensen attended a meeting with Internet regarding the screen design. <br />Service awards will be presented to employees at the Board meeting of <br />February 15. <br />
