City Of Thousand Oaks Correspondence Regarding Proposed Paige <br />Lane Oak Tree Mini -Forest Projects <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Sorensen discussed the proposed project, <br />and said that a feasibility study is planned. Gibson expressed concern <br />relative to the viability of planting oak trees at the proposed location. <br />Jacobsen stated his reluctance to commit to a forestation project due to the <br />dynamic priorities of the community. <br />B. Budget Performance Report — September 2000 — No Comment <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen noted the Kimber Park groundbreaking ceremony on October 21. <br />In response to Jacobsen's request for an assessment of the value of <br />voluntary services contributed to the site, Sorensen said that information <br />would be included in the next Capital Improvement Projects update. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton introduced and welcomed Taryn Sperry, an intern for the Recreation <br />and Community Services Division, and said that Sperry is involved in projects <br />at the Teen Center, Goebel Senior Adult Center, plus special assignments in <br />the Therapeutic and Cultural Units. <br />Continuing, Benton highlighted upcoming Halloween activities on October 28, <br />including the Conejo Community Center's Halloween costume contest at the <br />Oaks Mall, dances at both the Goebel and the Teen Centers, and two events <br />hosted by the Therapeutic Unit. <br />
