Award Of Contracts For The Purchase And Installation Of Play <br />Equipment And Safety Mat At Thousand Oaks Community Park Play <br />Area <br />Sorensen explained the bid process to replace existing play equipment and <br />provide disabled access at Thousand Oaks Community Park. He said that <br />Premium Construction submitted the lowest installation bid, Dave Bang <br />Associates, Inc. submitted a bid for equipment, the total cost would be <br />$43,342.39, $38,000 is available for reimbursement through the City from <br />the Community Development Block Grant fund, and staff recommends that <br />the District fund the difference of $5,342.39 using General Undesignated <br />capital funds. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Sorensen discussed the range of bids <br />submitted, and said that replaced equipment has no salvage value <br />because, typically, it does not meet current standards, and the new <br />equipment will be installed in the same play area and will serve two age <br />groups, three to five and five to twelve. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Gibson, and carried 5-0 to award <br />contract for purchase of play equipment to Dave Bang Associates, Inc. <br />in the amount of $25,353.39; and to award contract for accessible <br />matting and installation of the play equipment to Premium <br />Construction in the amount of $17,989.00, with funding to come from <br />#13-20-710-7153-99-3457-2422, and General Undesignated capital <br />funds. <br />
