January 20, 2000 <br />Page 2 <br />Coaches <br />Jim Benkert, Troy Thomas, John Kidder, Darryl Smith, Matt Staker, Erik Affholter, <br />Mark Shihabi, Chris Romero <br />Berger welcomed players, coaches, parents, and fans of the team; Holt and <br />Jacobsen highlighted the team's accomplishments; Lukes presented a videotape <br />of game highlights; Berger introduced Coach Benkert and reviewed his <br />professional accomplishments; and Benkert thanked the District and community <br />for their support, introduced, and recognized the academic and athletic <br />achievements of team members. On behalf of the Board, Holt and Jacobsen <br />presented medals to team members and Coach Benkert. Board members <br />congratulated the team, coach, families, and supporters for their achievement, <br />effort, and contribution to the community. <br />Berger recessed the meeting at 7:57 p.m. and reconvened at 8:03 p.m. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Jeannie Jakstis requested information about the schedule of community <br />meetings for Oakbrook Playfield site, expressed concern about the possible over <br />development of the site, and urged that the concept of a neighborhood park not be <br />compromised. <br />Sorensen said that the next community meeting for that park site will be scheduled <br />shortly and the public will be noticed. Berger indicated that a process will be <br />followed, and community input is an important part of that process. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Gibson, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0, to approve <br />the agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Minutes of January 6, 2000 Meeting <br />B. Warrants, Exhibits A - C, Total $254,411.01 <br />
