District Special Events Through December - No Comment <br />C. Ventura County Special Districts Association (VCSDA) Agenda - <br />November 9, 1999 And Minutes - September 7, 1999 - <br />Lange referenced the Local Governance Commission, and said that it <br />appears that the state legislature is beginning to recognize the importance <br />and value of special districts. <br />Holt noted the retirement of LAFCO Executive Director Arnold Dowdy. <br />D. Budget Performance Report - October - No Comment <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Sorensen reported that Senior Park Development Planner is retiring at the <br />end of the year and his replacement, Lorin Pluth, will begin District <br />employment on December 1. He said that the Board authorized acquisition <br />of property southwest of Walnut Grove Park is expected to be completed <br />within six weeks, and several therapeutics advocates groups have <br />expressed interest in the site as a therapeutics equestrian site.. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Wiley highlighted upcoming programs and said that the Young Artists <br />Ensemble presentation of Anne of Avonlea will be presented beginning <br />December 3 at the Conejo Valley Adult School Auditorium, followed by <br />Cheaper by the Dozen in February and the Sound of Music in April in the <br />Janet and Roy Scherr Forum Theater. He noted the Silver Starlight Ball <br />scheduled for December 12 at Los Robles Inn, and invited the Board's <br />attendance. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Wiley said that the Young Artists Ensemble <br />and the Gold Coast Plays have successfully collaborated to use the Forum <br />Theater at the Civic Arts Plaza for their winter and spring 2000 <br />presentations. <br />C. Administration Division Report <br />No report. <br />
