Provide Input And Approve Concept Plan For Skateboard Park At <br />Borchard Park <br />Sorensen presented an overview of the two skateboard workshops. <br />Gilmore discussed involvement of community youth, and introduced Loren <br />Pluth of Benshoof, Withers & Sandgren, Ltd, who facilitated the workshops. <br />Pluth presented an overview of the consensus design for the skateboard <br />park, and identified landscape and geographical features, proposed <br />skateboard elements, and fencing, and he discussed construction <br />materials. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Pluth said that he was impressed with the <br />local skaters' involvement in the project, the number of youth involved was <br />consistent with his past experience, park dimensions will be approximately <br />70 feet wide and 150 feet long, the design will facilitate a circular flow of <br />skaters, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible guidelines will be <br />incorporated into the park, the elements will not be moveable, although <br />minor modification will be possible, the workshops surfaced the skaters' <br />preferences regarding elements, ample room between the elements will <br />foster user flexibility and creativity, the park is not intended to be a venue for <br />professional competition, a six foot perimeter fence is envisioned for safety <br />and directing traffic flow, the skate surface will be of standard concrete with <br />
