CONEJO RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 16, '1999 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />GOEBEL SENIOR ADULT CENTER <br />MINUTES <br />1. CALL TO ORDER AND FLAG SALUTE <br />Chair Holt called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m., and Berger led the flag salute. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Directors Present: Berger, Gibson, Holt, Jacobsen, and Lange <br />Jacobsen arrived at 7:35 p.m. <br />Directors Absent: None <br />Staff Present: General Manager Ward, Administrators Jorgensen, Sorensen, and <br />Washington, Senior Park Planner Gilmore, Recreation Manager Wiley, Recreation <br />Coordinator Laufenberg, and Executive Secretary Ohren <br />3. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Adaptive Recreation Program - Therapeutics - Cecilia Laufenberg <br />Washington introduced Laufenberg, who discussed the program and its goal of <br />developing and presenting adaptive recreation programs for physically challenged <br />individuals. She identified activities offered including wheelchair sports such as <br />basketball, golf, and tennis, presented a slide presentation, and answered <br />questions. <br />Board members expressed appreciation for the program and staff efforts. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Ward referenced the communication from Councilmember Dan Del Campo <br />relative to Hill Canyon Recreational Resources Authority. He said the two memos <br />will appear on the September 21 City Council agenda, they affect the District, <br />relative to the Authority and the City of Thousand Oaks, and the Board may wish <br />to provide comment and direction. He said, pursuant to Government Code Section <br />54954.2, the Board may by a two-thirds vote act to place the item on the agenda, <br />on the basis that there is a need for that action, and it came to the attention of the <br />District subsequent to the publishing of the agenda. The discussion item would <br />be: Response To Proposal Regarding The Dissolution Of The Hill Canyon <br />Recreational Resources Authority, And Response To Proposal For Ballot Measure <br />To Rezone Property Designated For The Hill Canyon Golf Course. <br />
