March 8, 2001 <br />Page 2 <br />Adult Center to over 72,000 seniors, assisted 5,000 hours at the Fitzgerald Center, <br />contributed 8,000 hours to the Volunteers in Policing Program, assisted 985 seniors <br />and disabled individuals with income tax preparation, and prepared and mailed <br />200,000 pieces cf bulk mailing. <br />Danielle introduced Windell Hahm, Executive Director of Telecommunity Center of <br />Thousand Oaks, who thanked the District and the RSVP program for their support. <br />He presented an overview of the center, its goals, the various populations served, <br />and benefits to the community. <br />Leeanne Petras, member of Board of Directors of Telecommunity Center, <br />discussed the services offered to the senior population, including acquisition of <br />computer and internet skills for personal pleasure, part time jobs, and volunteers <br />positions. <br />They answered questions. <br />4. ITEMS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />Ralph Starita, a 25 -year resident of Thousand Oaks, said he is retired, doesn't use <br />the parks, and spoke in opposition to the proposed Park Maintenance and <br />Recreation Improvement District. <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Gibson requested that Item 8.13. precede Item 8.A. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0, to approve the <br />agenda as modified; i.e., Item 8.13. to precede Item B.A. <br />6.
