Approval To Name New Baseball Field "Amgen Field At Conejo Creek <br />South" <br />Holt recommended, and Gibson concurred, that the proposed name of the <br />field be limited to "Amgen Field". <br />Joe Turgeon, Director of Sales of Amgen and representative of Little <br />League, stated that the field is sorely needed, and Amgen has agreed to <br />provide a grant of $50,000 for the construction of the field, and has requested <br />that the field be named "Amgen Field". <br />Steve Hensen, member of Little League Board of Directors, said that his <br />organization supports the project, the location is good, the field is needed, <br />and stated his approval of the recommendation. <br />Roger Lazar, of Little League, noted the need for the field to serve the <br />targeted age group, and spoke in support of the recommendation. <br />Gibson said that he would abstain from voting, because of his position as <br />President of the Conejo Valley Little League Board of Directors. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carred 3-0, with Gibson <br />abstaining, to name the new baseball field at Conejo Creek Park South <br />"Amgen Field". The name may be indicated at the field appropriately in <br />conjunction with CRPD signage standards, all signage must be <br />approved by CRPD, and the name will only be displayed at the field and <br />not on any other signage at the park. <br />8. A. Adoption Of Resolution Number 030801-A, A Resolution To Establish <br />District Ordinance Related To Skating Activities On District Property <br />Sorensen stated that in order for the skate park to be covered by the <br />conditional immunity of A131296, the District must adopt an ordinance <br />requiring users to use protective gear or face citation, and post appropriate <br />signage. He said he was available for questions. <br />Jacobsen said that maintenance and hazardous conditions resulting from <br />food, beverages, and associated litter have been identified and reported at <br />other skate parks, and urged that food and beverages not be permitted in the <br />facility. <br />
