November 21, 2002 <br />Page 4 <br />He said he will attend the November 26 meeting of the Ventura County Board <br />of Supervisors, relative to the transfer of Oakbrook Regional Park. <br />Continuing, Sorensen said that, relative to Conejo Creek South, in order to <br />accelerate the process, an independent consultant has been hired to conduct <br />a cumulative traffic analysis, the report is expected to be completed by <br />December 15, and as soon as possible after the cumulative traffic analysis is <br />received, it is staff intention to schedule a Planning Commission meeting, <br />relative to the project. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiries, Sorensen said that staff has been working <br />with a dog park focus group and most issues have been satisfactorily <br />resolved; preliminary lighting studies have begun, light poles have been <br />offered to the District by a Westlake homeowners association, but no <br />installation is anticipated before winter. <br />Concluding, he said that many letters of interest have been received by <br />individuals interested in serving on the Lang Ranch focus group. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Scott highlighted upcoming events including the 18th Annual Silver Starlight <br />Ball presented by the Therapeutic Recreation Unit on December 8 at the Los <br />Robles Banquet Center, and the Goebel Senior Adult Center Annual Holiday <br />Party on December 9. <br />Scott said that the winter pre -season basketball league begins December 2 <br />at Thousand Oaks and Borchard Community Centers, league play begins <br />January 6, and at least 36 teams are expected to participate. <br />Concluding, she said that the Teen Center recently hosted two events, the <br />November 14 Middle School Spirit Night, at which Colina Middle School was <br />the overall winner, and the November 16 7th and a Grade Harvest Dance, <br />which had approximately 1,000 teens in attendance. Additionally, she said <br />that the November 16 Kids Swap Meet at Thousand Oaks Center hosted 120 <br />kid vendors and approximately 2,000 buyers. <br />C.
