Public Hearing — Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budget <br />Jacobsen declared the Public Hearing open. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Jorgensen said that the Capital <br />Improvement Projects and the Master Plan update will be presented the <br />second meeting in June. <br />As no one was in attendance who wished to address the Board, the Public <br />Hearing was continued to the next regular meeting. <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Adoption Of Resolution Number 052302-F, Amending Section 470 Of <br />District's Ordinance Manual Disallowing Use Or Disposal Of Tobacco <br />Products Within District Playgrounds <br />Marchesano provided background information, referenced Assembly Bill 188, <br />which prohibits smoking of tobacco -related products within playgrounds or tot <br />lot sandbox areas, and stated that it is necessary to amend the District's <br />Ordinance Manual. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Marchesano said that it is not anticipated that <br />new signage will be necessary, no formal public notification is planned, but a <br />newspaper article would be appropriate. <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Marchesano said that the amendment to the <br />Ordinance Manuel will indicate: "smoking of a cigarette, cigar, or other <br />tobacco -related product within ora 'anent to playgrounds is prohibited." <br />Ward said that pending legislation defines the prohibited area. <br />In response to Jacobsen's inquiry, Sorensen said that the Ordinance Manual <br />has been a helpful tool to manage, but not eliminate, alcohol consumption in <br />EI Parque de La Paz and Waverly Park. <br />
