He said that initial efforts and drafting of the 2004 Local Taxpayers and Public Safety Protection Act has begun; a hearing by the Senate Local Government Committee, relative to the accountability and ethics of special districts, is scheduled for the week of November 24. Concluding, Ward said that action taken by the City Council to make the current Two Winds location the permanent equestrian site, with the City acting as lead agency, also includes the direction to resolve ownership issues with the District.
