November 6, 2003 <br />Page 2 <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />A. Authorization To Execute MOU Between District and Conejo Valley Little <br />League Relative To Donation To "Amgen Field" At Conejo Creek South <br />Gibson recused himself. <br />Pluth referenced the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and said that it <br />was developed in response to a $75,000 pledge by Conejo Valley Little League <br />(CVLL) toward construction of a baseball field at Conejo Creek South; and the <br />intent is to provide CVLL with priority use of field to be named Amgen Field. <br />In response to Lange's inquiry, Pluth said that the District and Amgen's positive, <br />long-standing relationship continues. <br />Ward said the District has received CVLL's check for $75,000. <br />Lange thanked CVLL and Amgen for their support; Gibson said that the <br />dialogue continues with CVLL and Amgen, relative to the maintenance of the <br />field; and there will be no advertising on the field beyond team sponsorship. <br />Lange requested that a letter of thanks be sent. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 4-0, with Gibson <br />recused, to authorize staff to execute the submitted Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) between CRPD and Conejo Valley Little League <br />(CVLL) relative to a donation by CVLL of $75,000 toward construction of <br />"Amgen Field" at Conejo Creek South. <br />B. Approval To Award Bid For Two % Ton Utility Bed Trucks, A 1 Jon 4X4 <br />Flatbed Truck, And A % Ton Pickup Truck To Paradise Chevrolet In <br />Amount Of $89,577.90 <br />Marchesano said that staff annually performs a cost benefit analysis on current <br />District vehicles, and he identified the site and use of each proposed new <br />vehicle. He reviewed the bid process, and identified the responding vendors <br />and Paradise Chevrolet as the low bidder. He said that the vehicles meet all of <br />the District's specifications. <br />In response to Holt's inquiry, Marchesano said that the request for proposals <br />was publicized through a public notification, trade papers, and a direct mailing to <br />local vendors. <br />
