It was moved by Berger, seconded by Holt, and carried 4-0 to nominate Lange to assume the duties of Chair for calendar year 2003. The election of Lange as Chair was declared unanimous. Jacobsen congratulated Lange. On behalf of the Board and himself, Lange thanked Jacobsen for his service as chair, commended him for his leadership, experience, and service to the community, presented a ceremonial gavel, and assumed the position of Chair. Board members commended and thanked Jacobsen for his many years of service. Jacobsen thanked all for their support and commended staff and the General Manager for their professionalism. It was moved by Berger, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0 to nominate Holt for Vice Chair. The election of Holt as Vice Chair was declared unanimous. Lange congratulated Holt, and said that he looks forward to another productive year for the District. Lange referenced current committee assignments, determined openings to be filled, asked for preferences, and said that Gibson had communicated his desire to continue in his current assignments. He noted three appointment expirations in 2003: Jacobsen's appointment to COSCA expiring on December 1, 2003, Gibson's appointment to the Civic Center Authority expiring on May 18, 2003, and Holt's appointment to the Teen Center and Services Authority expiring on March 25, 2003. It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 4-0 to reappoint Jacobsen as representative to Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) for a four-year term.
