DEFERRED MATTERS
None
8. NEW ITEMS
A. Approval of Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA)
Final Budget — Fiscal Year 2004-05
Lewanda noted that the budget is done from a cash flow perspective, unlike
the CRPD budget. Lewanda also noted that the organization will need to
continue to respond to the fact that they no longer have advanced grant
money, which will require more careful planning. There is an increasing
demand on not only MRCA funds but also other grantor agencies. There will
be a need to generate additional grant money or unrestricted revenues from
events such as weddings, etc.
Lange commented that under the Revenue section the line items, such as
garden tours, conference meetings, special events is an area that MRCA in
conjunction with the Conservancy has increased in recent years. Some of
the venues have become very popular in Southern California, with weekends
booked over a year in advance.
It was moved by Berger, seconded by Gibson, and carred 5-0 to
approve the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA)
Final Budget — Fiscal Year 2004-05.
