In response to Board inquiries, Friedl said he believes that Little League and others in the community understand that the District is doing its best to meet the needs of the public, in spite of a difficult financial situation; and the equestrian trail, which extends through Conejo Creek South, will be open in August. Holt thanked Friedl for meeting officials from the Historical Society, and said the discussion was productive. Gibson said that he had been a member of the Conejo Creek focus group, and there was no firm commitment to not install lights. Gibson asked that the Chumash Interpretative Center representatives be cautioned to not use the presentation as a lobbying exercise, and he said that the District should be vigilant on all issues affecting the cost of water.
