He noted the following upcoming events: La Fiesta del Triunfo Ball on July 17, a meeting on July 19 called by the Thousand Oaks Library Foundation, relative to a proposed expansion of the Special Collections area of the library, and a Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) meeting on July 14, at which time open space projects will be ranked. Ward said that the District has taken on significant responsibility with respect to ensuring that financial transactions associated with Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) are consistent with fiduciary responsibilities enjoyed at the District, progress is being made, and additional work remains, including a recruitment. Directors' Reports Lange reported that he attended the recent Ventura County Special Districts Association (VCSDA) meeting, and was appointed to the website committee to create a new website for the organization; and Ventura County Organization of Governments (VCOG) is interested in getting special districts more involved in county government and is inviting representatives of cities and special districts to a meeting on December 2. Berger stated that, due to budget cuts, MRCA has initiated parking fees around selected developed park areas. Holt noted the "Granny Family Science Night" at the Goebel Senior Adult Center on July 22.
