March 4, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br />On behalf of the Board, Holt expressed appreciation of CVAC, and wished <br />him success. <br />It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to <br />authorize staff to execute the Conejo Valley Days (CVD) Agreement for <br />2004 and accept 2004 Conejo Valley Days (CVD) Permit Conditions as <br />modified; i.e., that times of equipment setup and teardown be <br />consistent with City of Thousand Oaks' noise ordinances and <br />typographical errors be corrected. <br />B. Adoption Of Resolution Number 030404-A Authorizing District To Apply <br />For Grant Funding Through Governor's Office Of Emergency Services <br />Hazard Mitigation Grant Program DR -1498 <br />Friedl reported that, as a result of "California Firestorms of 2003, the State of <br />California is eligible for federal assistance through the Hazard Mitigation <br />Grant Program; eligible activities include planning and cost-effective <br />mitigation projects, such as flood and mud flow mitigation; the District's <br />proposal will focus on fire mitigation in the Conejo Valley, with a total activity <br />cost of $120,000, of which $90,000 will be the federal requested share and <br />$30,000 will be the District's match; Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency (FEMA) has final approval for activity eligibility and funding; this <br />year's expenses for brush clearance are estimated to be between $110,000 <br />and $120,000. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Berger, and carried 5-0 that the <br />Board adopt Resolution Number 030404-A, authorizing the District to <br />apply for grant funding through the Governor's Office of Emergency <br />Services Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, DR -1498; that it be read in <br />title only and all further readings be waived. <br />9.
