Goebel Senior Center Commission Minutes — December 10, 2003 — No <br />Comment <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Park Division Report <br />Friedl reported that, relative to Conejo Valley Days and the Chili Cook -Off, <br />parking issues have been resolved and, with the cooperation of the Teen <br />and Goebel Centers and Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD), <br />Conejo Creek North will be utilized; the Persian Festival is March 28, and <br />although AYSO has identified March 28 as a rain date, the rain date <br />schedule is somewhat flexible; and Borchard Shop and the Stagecoach Inn <br />carriage building are being treated for termite eradication. <br />Benton and Friedl discussed the upcoming Persian Festival. They reported <br />that staff has met with Steve Sepidehdam, a festival participant, who <br />indicated he would like to have amplified sound and serve food at the <br />festival; staff members indicated that they were not likely to favorably <br />consider a piecemeal approach at permitting the event; no official <br />organization has taken responsibility for the event; expenses totaling <br />$25,000 were incurred last year, but almost all was recouped; and a parking <br />fee of $20 per car will be charged this year. Gibson noted that food <br />vendors come under the purview of the Ventura County Health Department. <br />In response to Gibson's inquiry regarding installation of safety padding at <br />Conejo Community Park, Marchesano said he would research the status of <br />the project. <br />B.
