January 22, 2004
Page 3
It was moved by Berger, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to
authorize staff to utilize $8,874.40 from account 10-20-340-4819 to
purchase the new HydroTech High Pressure Steam Cleaner from
Haynes Industries.
Gibson suggested that, in the future, items such as this be handled under
the General Manager's purview. In response to Gibson's inquiry, Ward
said that, because the purchase was not budgeted and funded from
savings in vehicle purchases, it was determined that Board approval for the
expenditure was prudent.
9. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION
None
10. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Conejo Coalition For Youth And Families Correspondence & Agenda —
January 28, 2004
Gibson noted that the Advisory Council of the Conejo Coalition for Youth
and Families (CCfYF) will meet on January 28, and at the Conejo
Substance Abuse & Prevention Authority (CSAPA) meeting on January 29,
bylaw changes to facilitate the agency becoming part of the Conejo
Coalition for Youth and Families (CCfYF) would be discussed.
B. Activities Summary
Holt noted increased enrollment at Borchard Community Park, and Lange
requested additional information on topics and programs for Women's and
Men's Discussion Groups at Goebel Senior Adult Center.
C. Report Of Investments -w October, November 2003
Holt noted that the majority of District funds are invested in the County of
Ventura investment pool, rather than LAIF — State of California. Ward
stated that both pools are monitored and professionally managed, and
currently a better return is available through the County of Ventura.
D.
