In Amount Of $132,942,
Plus A 10% Contingency, For Thousand Oaks Community Center Parking Lot
Renovation
Friedl reviewed the bid process for the renovation of the existing Thousand Oaks
Community Park asphalt entry driveway, and other miscellaneous work. He said
JOSH General Engineering of Fillmore submitted the low bid of $129,695, but the bid
was rejected because of an improperly prepared, non-responsive Form of Bid; the next
lowest bidder was Premier Paving, Inc. of Ontario, in the amount of $132,942; an
aggressive schedule will be pursued; and it is anticipated that the work will be done
during spring break.
In response to Board inquiries, Friedl said that JOSH General Engineering of Fillmore
has not previously worked for the District, they were contacted, and the issue of non-
responsiveness in the Form of Bid was discussed. He said it is likely that the asphalt
will be recycled, and Park Planner Welty manages contracts closely.
