Investment Report — March 2007 — No Comment <br />E. Budget Performance Report — April 2007- No Comment <br />F. California Association of Recreation and Park Districts (CARPD) <br />Conference - 2007 <br />Jacobsen highlighted the conference, and congratulated Gibson on his <br />installation as president of CARPD. <br />Jacobsen said that the event was a great success, and a power point <br />presentation, prepared by Gibson, emphasizing the role of special districts <br />was much appreciated. The District received three awards of recognition: <br />the Award of Distinction for Best Marketing and Communications, Best <br />Newspaper Coverage and the Special Award for the District Timeline. <br />Jacobsen displayed the awards. <br />Gibson said that Ralph Heim and California Assemblyman Roger Nielio <br />were the featured speakers. Further, he recommended that Camp Gazette, <br />an excellent workshop on how districts can work successfully with media, <br />be featured at a future conference. <br />In response to Berger's inquiry, Beaton said that the budget identifies funds <br />for some staff members to attend the California Parks and Recreation <br />Society (CPRS) Conference. <br />G.
