November 6, 2008 <br />Page 5 <br />B. Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) Cash <br />Report 2008 - No Comment <br />11. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />A. Parks Division Report <br />Hare reported that Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Lang Ranch closed <br />November 6, and interest has been expressed by over 20 parties. Staff will <br />involve City of Thousand Oaks Community Development and Public Works <br />staff in the project. The Conejo Creek South project continues. The <br />maintenance and operation of the community pool at California Lutheran <br />University is being discussed. A luncheon and demonstration of the Rocks <br />and Ropes Adventure Course at Conejo Community Park is planned for <br />November 7. The facility will be open to the public later in November. <br />B. Recreation Division Report <br />Benton referenced the recreation highlights documentation. The Young <br />Artists Ensemble will present C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the <br />Wardrobe on November 7 through 23.The Senior Nutrition Action Council <br />(SNAC) will present Deals on Wheels on November 11, and all proceeds <br />will go to support the senior nutrition lunch program at the Marquee Cafe. <br />On November 15, the Teen Center will present the Harvest Dance for 7th <br />and 8' grade middle school teens. Goebel Senior Adult Center will present <br />the Holiday Craft Bazaar on November 8. <br />Benton reported that over 3,000 patrons attended the four -night Reign of <br />Terror Haunted House, ticket sale revenue was $14,815, and a donation of <br />approximately $2,500 will be split between the Teen Center and Young <br />Artists Ensemble. <br />Gibson supplied feedback on the recent Teen Volunteer and Social <br />Services Faire. <br />Hare noted the upcoming November 16 softball game between the Conejo <br />Valley Unified School District and CRPD. <br />
