Authorize General Manager to Extend Disability Benefit Beyond Six <br />Months for An Employee (Oral Report) <br />Friedl and Lewanda referenced a current employee situation in which <br />disability payments have expired. The existing Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) provides that the General Manager can extend <br />disability payments beyond six months, subject to Board approval. It was <br />suggested that, in this case, the Board grant the General Manager authority <br />to extend disability payments until PERS disability retirement begins, not to <br />exceed six months and not to establish a precedent. A discussion ensured. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Berger, and carried 4-1, with <br />Gibson in opposition, to grant the General Manager authority to <br />extend disability payments to the employee in question, until PERS <br />disability retirement begins, not to exceed six months and not to <br />establish a precedent <br />9.
