September 17, 2009 <br />Page 2 <br />Berger thanked everyone and expressed his pride and pleasure in having been part of the <br />collaborative effort that has provided the community with exceptional recreation programs, <br />parks and open space. <br />Director Gibson asked to be excused, and left the meeting at 8:25 PM. <br />5. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />A. Approval of Minutes of September 3, 2009 Meeting <br />B. Approval of Warrants, Exhibit A <br />Accounts Payable Check Registers Total $729,249.01 <br />Payroll Total $303,347.13 <br />C. Renewal of District's Special Liability Insurance Policy <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Jacobsen, and carried 4-0, to approve the <br />Consent Calendar as modified; i.e., Item 8.D. to precede Item 8.A. <br />7. DEFERRED MATTERS <br />None <br />8. NEW ITEMS <br />D. Proposed Verizon Wireless Cellular Communications Facility at Dos Vientos <br />Community Park <br />Hare provided relevant information. He said that currently the District has two lease <br />agreements connected with Dos Vientos Community Park; one with Cingular <br />Wireless and the other with Sprint/Nextel. Verizon Wireless has expressed an <br />interest in the site, and in observance of City of Thousand Oaks' regulations, <br />proposes to place its facilities in an underground vault and to utilize a low -profile <br />antenna. The terms and conditions of the lease agreement with Verizon will be <br />similar to previous agreements, except for an increase in rent to $2,500 per month. <br />The District will also receive the usual $3,000 upfront option fee and 3% annual <br />increase in rent. <br />
