Approval of Agreement with Conejo Valley United Soccer Club <br />Hare provided relevant information and distributed a late modification of the <br />Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). He said that Conejo Valley United Soccer <br />Club (CVUSC), a local not-for-profit program for youth soccer, has served more than <br />10,000 youth of the community for more than 30 years by operating soccer programs <br />on the Thousand Oaks Community Park fields and other District properties. in order <br />to solidify and enhance the partnership between CRPD and CVUSC, the submitted <br />MOU was developed. Highlights of the agreement include: CVUSC will contribute <br />$70,000 in equal installments of $10,000 over seven years for constructing the <br />MUSCO athletic field light improvements at Thousand Oaks Community Park; <br />CVUSC will remain an "In District" non-profit youth organization, as defined by CRPD; <br />the initial term is 10 years commencing June 25, 2009; CVUSC has the option to <br />renew and extend the terms an additional five years; and CVUSC will contribute an <br />additional $30,000 for a mutually agreeable improvement at the Thousand Oaks <br />community fields. Hare identified field time allocated for CVUSC, as defined in the <br />documentation. <br />Steve Cameron, Thousand Oaks, Vice President of CVUSC, referenced the long <br />beneficial relationship with the District, and thanked Hare and Lukes. He said this will <br />be an opportunity to give back to the community. <br />Chuck Huffer, representing AYSO, Region 9, spoke in support of the agreement. He <br />thanked Hare for his efforts and noted the AYSO agreement relative to Conejo Creek <br />South. <br />Doug Overton, AYSO, Region 9, spoke in support of the partnership between the <br />District and soccer organizations and said the rehabilitation at Conejo Creek is going <br />well. <br />Lange characterized the agreement as a 'Win-win" situation, which will enhance the <br />quality of life for many. <br />Friedl commended Hare and the organization's work. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Short, and carried 4-0, with Holt not in <br />attendance, to authorize the General Manager to enter into agreement with <br />Conejo Valley United Soccer Club. <br />
