Personnel Actions to Reorganize Fleet Division <br />Hare referenced the documentation and summarized the recommendations. He <br />said that, due to the retirement of the Lead Equipment Mechanic, anticipated to <br />be in August 2009, staff recommends a reorganization of the fleet services <br />section of the Parks and Planning Division. The duties of the Lead Equipment <br />Mechanic will be split between the Senior Grounds Supervisor and the Fleet <br />Technician II. It is expected there will be an initial overall savings of <br />approximately $39,000 per year in salaries and benefits, and changes will be <br />effective upon the retirement of the Lead Equipment Mechanic. <br />It was moved by Lange, seconded by Gibson, and carried 5-0 to. <br />1. Eliminate the existing Lead Equipment Mechanic position (range 51); <br />2. Reclassify the existing Equipment Mechanic position (range 47) to Fleet <br />Technician 11 (range 49); <br />3. Add a Fleet Technician Assistant position (range 35); <br />4. Approve job specification of Lead Fleet Technician Assistant position <br />(range 39). <br />9. Multi -Agency Funding Options Review Contract Award by City of Thousand <br />Oaks <br />Friedl reviewed that in 2008, the board authorized staff to work with Conejo <br />Valley Unified School District and the City of Thousand Oaks to develop a "Multi - <br />Agency Funding Options Survey" and authorized an expenditure not to exceed <br />$20,000. At the May 19 City Council meeting, Phase 1 of a contract with True <br />North Research Incorporated together with Tramutola, LLC was approved in an <br />amount not to exceed $53,124 for all three agencies. The expected timeframe <br />for the telephone survey is fall of 2009. <br />
