Improvements to be designed <br />under this contract include an additional play area, restroom, jogging path, <br />active and passive turf areas, and parking. Staff recommends Landmark <br />Design for the contract award. <br />In response to Board inquiries, Hare said that Landmark Design is local and <br />has done work for the District in the past. He anticipates that construction <br />will begin in fiscal year 2010-2011, and approximately 20 parking spaces <br />are envisioned. <br />It was moved by Jacobsen, seconded by Short, and carried 5-0 to: <br />Appropriate $20,000 from fund 62 fund balance to CIP project account <br />62-802-811-80601-003. <br />Authorize General Manager to execute contract to Landmark Design in <br />the amount of $103,915, plus a 15% contingency amount of $15,600, <br />totaling $119,515, for the design of the undeveloped 8.5 acres at <br />Oakbrook Neighborhood Park. <br />D. Strategic Plan Update <br />Friedl provided background information. He highlighted the planning <br />process in 2007; the Board's approval of a five-year Strategic Plan, <br />including a mission and vision statement, in the fall of 2007 covering years <br />2008-2012; the January 2009 overview of progress made; and a Strategic <br />Planning Study Session on February 5. Referencing the submitted <br />documentation, he said that staff has considered Board comments and has <br />proposed modest changes to the existing Strategic Plan, including an <br />amended Vision Statement to highlight the District's focus on incorporating <br />and encouraging more environmentally sustainable business practices <br />throughout the organization as well as the community. He synopsized <br />proposed goals for 2009, including a proposed mobile recreational trailer to <br />support recreation programming at non -staff facilities, and special events, <br />including the W' anniversary of Conejo Recreation and Park District in <br />2012. <br />Corrections identified: pages 2 and 17 - typographic errors; page 18, Item <br />7.3 changed to read "enhance relationship with Pleasant Valley and <br />Rancho Simi Recreation and Park Districts." <br />
