Short noted the need for <br />revenue, and stated his support of the event. <br />Friedl said that it is likely that a special meeting of the Board will be called for August <br />12, and suggested that the issues raised be addressed and brought back to the <br />Board. <br />It was moved by Holt, seconded by Lange, and carried 5-0 to continue the issue <br />to the next Board meeting. <br />Gibson recessed the meeting at 9:40 pm and reconvened the meeting at 9:50 pm. <br />B. Amateur Baseball Development Group (ABDG) Request to Use Fees Generated <br />at Conejo Creek Ballpark for Picnic Area, Landscaping, and Shade Covering <br />Improvements at Conejo Creek Ballpark; District Grant of Funds to Amateur <br />Baseball Development Group for Picnic Area, Landscaping, and Shade <br />Covering Improvements at Conejo Creek Ballpark <br />Friedl introduced Roger Lazer, secretary, and Randy Riley, president of the <br />ABDG. <br />Friedl provided historic prospective, project information, and the possible future of <br />ongoing agreements between ABDG and the District. He stated that in May 2008, the <br />Board authorized an agreement which included a provision for ABDG, a non-profit <br />organization, to request the District forego all or part of permit fees for the use of <br />Conejo Creek Ballpark in order to provide for capital improvements for the facility in an <br />amount equal to, or greater than, the amount requested. Over the past five years, <br />ABDG has provided over $150,000 in capital improvements at the facility. ABDG <br />desires to continue to be involved by helping to complete improvements on an <br />approximate 12,000 square foot pad at Conejo Creek South Ballpark; total cost for the <br />project is estimated to be $64,000. <br />Riley identified ABDG Board members and officers of the organization. Lazer <br />indicated that the target age for the group is 14-21, and the leagues are expanding. <br />Gibson recommended that Short and he serve on the ad hoc committee. <br />
